The University of Auckland International Excellence Scholarships is available to international students to pursue undergraduate, bachelor's, and master's degree programs at the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

According to the QS World University Rankings, the University of Auckland is ranked among the top 100 universities in the world. This institution is also one of the largest and top-ranked universities in the country. The university student association consists of  6,900 international students from more than 120 countries.

Details of the University of Auckland Excellence Scholarship:

The main purpose of this award is to encourage young and talented international students to conduct undergraduate or graduate studies at the University of Auckland for at least one year.

Up to 50 scholarships are awarded twice a year, depending on the semester of new and second-year students. Each scholarship is worth up to the US $ 10,000 for graduate and undergraduate research. Scholarships are awarded in the form of credits for the first year of tuition required by the University of Auckland.


Participation conditions: 

 Candidates are new international students with an unconditional academic offer and/or English with a  conditional offer before applying for a graduate or education master's degree with 120 credits or more, or a bachelor's degree with a foreign secondary or post-secondary academic skill. Must be an academy student at the University of Auckland. As a general rule, students should achieve at least 6 points worth. 

Selection is based on student academic performance, cover letter excellence, and candidate examiner approval. The applicant's home country is also taken into consideration.

Applicants who have already started research at the University of Auckland are not considered. Also, students applying for a Master of Philosophy are not considered. Students from the University of Auckland Foundation, UP Education, Taylor's College, and students from New Zealand's secondary schools are not eligible.


How to apply

 Grant applications are usually accepted approximately 6 weeks before the deadline. The deadline for applying for programs starting in February 2023 is November 2022, and the deadline for applying for programs starting in July 2022 is April 2022.
