Arthur Irving Academy Awards for Environmental Studies at Acadia University

In addition, participants are given excellent research opportunities at the renowned K.C. Irving Climate Science Center and Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens, as well as the opportunity to participate in a mentorship program.

The scholarship offers continuous financial assistance worth $15,000 per academic year. Applicants must have a 90 percent average to be admitted.
The value is $15,000 per year for the four years.

EDWIN BORDEN WINNINGS
It is awarded to incoming Black Nova Scotian students in recognition of their exceptional involvement in the community and leadership among Black Nova Scotian students. A committee will review submissions before making prizes.
>>These honors, which are named after Edwin Borden, an Acadia alumnus who was among the first Black people in Canada to earn both a Bachelor's degree (1892) and a Master's degree (1900), will recognize community service and leadership among Black Acadia students (1896).
>> Borden, a native of Truro, Nova Scotia, later earned a Ph.D. and established himself in the United States as a respected religious figure and university president.
The grants will be offered beginning with the 2021–2022 academic year and will continue for at least 4 years.
Cost per year: $3,500
The submission deadline is March 12th.

>> The School Award will be given on an annual basis to a student who is a graduate of the Annapolis Valley Local School Board and is entering the first year of a degree or professional program at Acadia Institution.
>> The applicant must have an outstanding high school academic record and demonstrate "Rotary Spirit" through community service and/or leadership efforts that have benefited others.
Priority will be given to students who demonstrate financial need. The Rotary Club of Wolfville, in collaboration with Acadia Institution, presents the award to ensure that outstanding local students have the opportunity to attend university.

>> This award is for an incoming student from [Tantramar Regional High School or Amherst Regional High School] who applied to Acadia Institution for their programs... Students with Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor/Certificate of Applied Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, and Statistics degrees will be prioritized.
>> The winner will share the characteristics of John and Anne Wilson, namely, he or she will be enterprising, actively involved in the community of Sackville, New Brunswick, and have demonstrated an ability to both help and benefit from the Acadia institution.
>>The recipient of the grant must have an agreed-upon fixed average of 80 percent in school preparation courses for each grade 10, 11, and the first semester of Grade 12. The scholarship, which had a program value of up to $38,000 in 2005, was kindly financed by the Wilson family.
>> In contrast, the prize also includes a $22,000 Acadia University residence scholarship for each of the four years of study. Please be aware that to qualify for this grant, students must have at least an 80 percent average in grades 11 and 12.
>> The total cost over four years is $38,000 plus $22,000 (resident scholarship).

The Port Williams Jam Scholastic Award
This honor is granted each year to a Canadian citizen who has resided in Port Williams for three to five years and is beginning their first year at Acadia.
The grantee must have shown academic merit (minimum grade point average in grades 11 and 12 of 75% or higher), financial need, and a beneficial impact on the community and religious issues.
>> A price of $1500
The cutoff date is May 31.

Awards for Business Entrance from VEMCO
>> It is awarded to two students who have participated in extracurricular activities each year and are beginning the Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
>> One of the winners will be from Nova Scotia at the very least. Priority will be given to children of VEMCO/AMIRIX Systems Inc. employees and people who have demonstrated innovative thinking.
The Fred C. Manning School of Business director recommended awarding the prizes. The prizes were established in 2010 as part of VEMCO/AMIRIX Systems Inc.'s dedication to assisting post-secondary education.

On "March 1st," registration will expire.
Children and grandchildren of Acadia alumni are eligible for their awards.

The Criteria For Receiving An Acadia Scholarship
• You must be a high school, secondary school, or transfer student to qualify.
•A minimum grade point average (GP) of 80% in the courses needed for admission is necessary.
•The scholarship level is determined by adding your grades from your final Grade 11 and first semester Grade 12 courses, which are prerequisites for admission.
• For the international grades to meet the Canadian GP standard, conversion is necessary.
• You must be a transferred student enrolled in your first undergraduate program and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, or 80 percent.
• The school's Status Portal should be used to complete the online award registration.

Apply for registration and turn in all necessary admissions documentation.
Once you are admitted to an Acadia institution, you will receive a letter of recognition and the school will inform you if you qualify for their prizes.
You must have finished your enrollment before March 1st.
It will be determined by this registration which of their school prizes you are eligible for. For Local and Specialized Awards, separate registration forms are needed.
